A brilliantly fast record-breaking two-year-old, Omega Code was also a graded stakes winning sprinter at three.
Out of a Deputy Minister mare, Omega Code is the product of the Mr. Prospector/Northern Dancer cross, and stallions bred on this cross have done well when crossed back over Northern Dancer line mares. Omega Code’s pedigree already has a double of Northern Dancer, but both crosses will be back in the fifth generation of his offspring, so a third cross of Northern Dancer will not be a problem.
Elusive Quality has been extremely successful when crossed back over Northern Dancer line mares, this combination producing 16 stakes winners. Elusive Quality has sired stakes winners out mares descending from Northern Dancer through Danzig (though his sons Ascot Knight and Dayjur, who gives inbreeding to Mr. Prospector), Dixieland Band (and through his Kentucky Jazz and Citidancer), Mari’s Book, Staff Writer, Nijinsky II (through Once Wild (by Baldski) and Generous (by Caerleon)), The Minstrel (through Palace Music), Storm Cat and Marju (a grandson of Try My Best – brother to El Gran Senor). It would also be interesting to breed Omega Code back over mares by sons of Deputy Minister, such as Awesome Again, Touch Gold, Silver DeputySalt Lake, Dehere and Deputy Commander.
From the Explodent branch of the Nearctic line, Elusive Quality. There are also several stakes winners by Gone West line stallions descending from Nearctic through Icecapade/Clever Trick.
Apart from Northern Dancer, Elusive Quality has proved to have a particularly strong affinity for mares from various branches of the Bold Ruler line. He has a graded stakes winner out of a mare by Taj Alriyadh (a son of Seattle Slew), and a graded stakes winner out of a mare by Raja Baba (sire of El Baba, Far Out East, Is It True, Well Decorated; grandsire of Notebook, Yes It’s True). He also has stakes winners out of mares by American Legion (a grandson of Secretariat, also sire of Risen Star, Pancho Villa, General Assembly, D’Accord, Academy Award, Medaille d’Or; grandsire of Tour d’Or), and other Bold Ruler grandsons Glitterman and Hawkins Special. From the T. V. Lark branch of the Nasrullah line, Elusive Quality has a stakes winner out of a mare by T. V. Commercial.
Elusive Quality’s Champion Smarty Jones is out of a mare by Smile, a son of In Reality. Other good sources of In Reality are Relaunch, Known Fact (who is from the same female line as Gone West), and Valid Appeal.
Elusive Quality has a stakes winner out of a mare by Saratoga Six, a son of Alydar, and a genetic relative to Elusive Quality’s grandsire, Mr. Prospector. Other Alydar sons include Alysheba, Turkoman, Easy Goer, Criminal Type, Strike the Gold, Dare and Go and Jeblar.
